IPNA (The International Pediatric Nephrology Association) was officially founded in 1974, since then has worked tirelessly to create a unified and collaborative group of pediatric nephrologists. For now IPNA is comprised of roughly 1500 pediatric nephrologists and allied professionals representing 89 countries around the world and it has been the highest academic group in the field of pediatric nephrology around the world.
IPNA work to disseminate knowledge about kidney disease in children in the areas where care is needed most. Through education and the dissemination of information, IPNA have helped advance the field of pediatric nephrology from a physiological discovery to the distinct specialty it is today.
IPNA hosts an International Congress every 3 years for members to discuss basic science, clinical science and clinical practice. In addition, IPNA facilitates frequent workshops and regional symposia for pediatric nephrologists across the globe.
